Supplementary Angles

 

Supplementary Angle: If the sum of two angles is a right angle or, 180°, then the angles are called Supplementary angle to each other.

or,

Supplementary Angle: Two angles formed by bisecting a right angle or, 180° angle, are called supplementary angles.

or,

Supplementary angles: Supplementary angles are defined as two angles whose sum is 180⁰. In other words, two angles that add up to 180⁰ are known as Supplementary angles.

For example, if an angle is 80⁰ then its supplement angle would be 100⁰. Because 80⁰+100⁰ = 180⁰. In this case, 80⁰ and 100⁰ are supplements of each other.

i.e.,

• 80⁰ is the suppliment of 100⁰
• 100⁰ is the suppliment of 80⁰ 
• 120⁰ is the suppliment of 60⁰
• 60⁰ is the suppliment of 120⁰. 

Hence, any two angles can be supplementary angles if their sum is equal to 180⁰.
